For a group that undergo’s yearly changes to their band’s line up and for a group that seems to change their band name with every tour, the music of A Silver Mt. Zion has stayed consistently valid and important in the post-rock corner of our musical arena. I guess you wouldn’t expect anything less from a man, Efrim Menuck – front man and lyricist – who “believes making music is labor.”  Even though their latest album, Fuck Off Get Free We Pour Light On Everything, was released at the beginning of this year, the emotional impact of “What We Loved Is Not Enough” and it’s figurative relationship to our worlds current social ills, makes it worth a review.
